We use a clean vege capsule made from plant cellulose.
Microcrystalline cellulose is a naturally derived plant binder. Vegesil a form of silica from rice. We use these in the smallest quantities possible in order to be able to encapsulate our ingredients. We have specifically done this in order to avoid the use of titanium dioxide, synthetic silicone dioxides and gums commonly found in other supplements.

How does a capsule help with sun protection?
Our ingredients are studied for helping skin cope with UV. NutroxSun has been shown to lift your sun tolerance by around 30% at two months and calm UV redness, and Polypodium Leucotomos is a photoprotective antioxidant that mops up the free radicals the sun kicks up. A little team of helpers, working alongside your sunscreen.
Does it help with redness after being in the sun?
Studies say it can help. In a 2025 one, next-day redness was lower with NutroxSun than placebo (about 45% versus 63%) and had mostly settled by 72 hours. So yes, less redness after sun exposure and faster recovery.
Does Sandy protect against sun damage?
We can't claim Sandy prevents sun damage, and honestly we wouldn't. What it does do is pack in antioxidants that help combat the free radicals UV radiation stirs up in your skin, which is part of your skin's everyday defence squad. Your sunscreen and shade are what actually protect you, and Sandy works right alongside them. For anything to do with your skin health, your doctor or dermatologist is your best mate.
Does Sandy replace sunscreen?
No way. Sandy would never try to steal sunscreen's job. She's the one who shows up alongside your SPF, ready to join the party and add a little extra something to the routine. So keep your SPF in the mix and use it how you normally would, and let Sandy add the magic.
Can I take it every day, all year?
Please do! Daily and year round is exactly how Sandy works best, because the benefits build over time. UV doesn't take winter off, especially in New Zealand, so neither should you. And since we kept the formula to just those three plant ingredients with no added vitamins or minerals, it won't clash with the rest of your supplement routine.
